Mystery of my missing son is killing me
Heartbroken mum of Paul Shine-Dixon has lost hope of him ever being found
Paul, 28, travelled to England before making his way to Amsterdam and then France by train.
The “mummy’s boy” had been ringing home to his family and girlfriend every day.
He was hoping to meet his pregnant partner Sinead in Barcelona to start a new life together.
But he mysteriously got off the train in Perpignan in the South of France and rang Sinead in a frantic state telling her he had seen someone being shot in one of the train’s carriages.
He told her he had to charge his phone and he’d call back – but that was the last time anyone heard from Paul.
His family have learned French police found Paul at the station in a distressed state and took him to a medical centre.
But he signed himself out the following day and that was the last known sighting of the popular Finglas man.
Clare has repeatedly asked officials to find out if there is any record of a shooting on the train that fateful day but four years later she’s still waiting for answers.
And she has begged for help in getting her appeal publicised by the media in France and Spain to help explain the disappearance.
She added: “It’s like he’s been forgotten, I don’t hear anything from the authorities and don’t know how to go about getting my message to foreign media but I desperately need help.
“The not knowing is killing us.
“I can’t bare the thought of Paul secretly buried somewhere when he should be at home.”
